Dubrovnik's trendiest beach lies just outside the old town.
This is where you’ll find the glitterati sunbathing in their designer swimwear, at the chi-chi eastwest beach club on Banje beach, a 10-minute walk east of the old town. Expect a fine stretch of golden sand, magnificent views of the city walls, sun beds and baldachini (wooden four-poster beds with white chiffon curtains), masseurs, DJ music and a bar-restaurant serving cocktails and summer snacks. There’s also a speedboat at hand for direct transfers to and from the old town harbour. At night a party mood sets in with flaming torches on the beach, and music and dancing.

Sun bed 60 kunas; baldachini 200 kunas; parasol 30 kunas; beach towel 10 kunas.
Expert tips:
Come late-afternoon and stay for sunset and a drink.
