An ode to ancient history, the National Museum will fascinate and educate both kids and adults.
I find it amazing that the best attractions in Dublin are free and this is a national treasure. Walk into the National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street and you are magically transported all the way back to 7,000BC. Take time at The Treasury for examples of Celtic and Medieval art, such as the famous Ardagh Chalice, the Tara Brooch and the Derrynaflan Hoard, while the finest collection of prehistoric gold artefacts in Europe is to be found in Or - Ireland's Gold. Medieval Ireland 1150-1550, documents life in Ireland in the age of cathedrals, monasteries and castles and the most fascinating and newest addition is the Kingship & Sacrifice exhibition displaying a number of recently found bog bodies dating back to the Iron Age - come 'face to face' with your ancient ancestors!
