Expert review of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway
Many Capetonians are guilty of not having made it to the top of 'their' mountain but thousands more relish any chance to play in its foothills, hike its ridges and send visitors up to the top at any opportunity. Once you have made the five-minute cableway trip (or the hour or so long hike if you're feeling adventurous), you too will understand. The view is simply spectacular - from here you'll be able to see all around the Cape Peninsula and, on a good day, as far as Cape Point. The city's most-loved attraction runs a slick operation and there are short walks up top, kids' activities and a busy restaurant-café.
An adults' return trip costs 160 rand, children under 18 80 rand. If it's your birthday you travel free. Children under four are free and there are various Friday specials. Online tickets add 10 rand administrative fee.
