Creative and stylish contemporary Asian fine-dining – it doesn’t get much better than this.
In the belly of the uber-hip Opposite House, this dark, chic restaurant consistently turns out fantastically creative Asian fare, with the emphasis on innovative use of fresh ingredients. Chef Max Levy, one of Beijing’s brightest, draws on influences from Japan, New York and northeast China to create his unique style of "North Asian" cuisine. Classy, inventive and always delicious.
Food and drink:
The set menus – several miniature courses served kaiseke style - are the best way to eke maximum sensory pleasure from the wide range of offerings here. I fondly recall a wonderful dish of blackened pork belly with miso. A sushi bar is an option for solo diners.
Ambience:
Hip, trendy and elegant, so dress appropriately. Not the place to take the kids, but great for a date or stylish soiree.
Service:
As you’d expect from a hotel that prides itself on inconspicuous, attentive service.
Location:
Ground floor of The Opposite House hotel in Sanlitun. After your meal, pop next door to trendy nightclub ‘Punk’ for a boogie.

Dear but worth it. Go for the one the set menus to get most out of your meal.
