Simple motel-style digs in super cool stadium style surroundings with concerts every Wednesday.
Wanna rock and roll all night and party every day? Ibiza Rocks Hotel is a huge complex complete with the world’s most famous (and up-and-coming) rock bands playing full-scale gigs every Wednesday night and non-stop party vibes throughout the rest of the week. I quickly discovered there is no rest for the wicked here…
Location:
In the centre of San Antonio, away from the notorious west end, but just a short walk from the iconic sunset strip. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within a five-minute walk and public transport is nearby for when you want to venture to the beach or clubs.
Bedrooms:
Very basic, self-catering accommodation. I stayed in a studio-apartment-style room, with twin beds we had to push together to make a double, plus a small kitchenette. Basically, it’s all about getting in early and booking a balcony room for the night of the concert – trust me, the uninterrupted view is a welcome respite from the mosh pit!

Public areas:
Designed with the feel of a rock stadium, the lobby, bars, fashion store, diner, games room and even the supermarket downstairs are always buzzing – great places to meet like-minded music fans. Over-run with the public on Wednesdays, just like a sold out rock show should be.
Eating and drinking:
There are four bars within the hotel, so you’ll never go thirsty, while the diner-style grill serves up typical concert-style burgers and fries – though I prefer heading down the road to the affiliated Ibiza Rocks diner, for an American-style grill by the sea.
Leisure facilities:
The biggest seller here is clearly the gigs, but after the plastic cups were swept away and the groupies had left the building, I found plenty more to do within the complex. Daily pool parties put on by the super clubs get you in the party mood and gaming enthusiasts will go nuts for the Xbox Social – a fully kitted out gaming room! Personally, I lost hours (and plenty of euros!) trying on clothes in the fashion boutique, trying to find the perfect “I’m with the band” look. Even though I wasn’t.
Service:
Minimal. I get the feeling staff are fed up with party people.

Who stays there:
A young, predominantly British crowd. Die-hard fans and groupies of each week’s band.
Price advice:
Admission to the concert and after-party at Es Paradis is included in the price, though additional mates will have to buy tickets. Room upgrades are available for 10 euros. Air conditioning, safety deposit boxes and Xbox consoles are available at additional cost per room.
