Expert review of H10 Estepona Palace
The best mid-range hotel in Estepona.
Located on the beachfront near Estepona's bustling marina, the H10 is an excellent bet. Typically Andalucian in style - with whitewashed curving walls and low rise in form - it has a classic beach flavour, but isn't too brash or modern. There are superb sea views as well as charming glimpses up into the mountains. I particularly like some of the beachfront rooms, which have wooden terraces. A good friend celebrated her honeymoon here and gave it a huge thumbs up, so it ain't bad for romance.
Location:
Good location near the marina and a pleasant 10 minute walk from Estepona town centre.
Bedrooms:
Minimalist in style, the bedrooms give an exceptional sense of space and brightness. Almost all of the 234 rooms have sea views (but do check) and all have a good-sized terrace, not to mention enticing bathrooms with great products. There is free WiFi in all the rooms.

Public areas:
Well-kept gardens and paths guide you down to the beach, from where there are panoramic views off to Gibraltar and the coast of Africa beyond. Inside, the lobby is light and airy with wooden beams, while the bar is usually buzzing and creates a great mood on arrival.
Eating and drinking:
There are four restaurants on offer. These include the excellent Alborán where you get a chance to try some of the best Spanish dishes.
Leisure facilities:
As you enter the swimming pool area you are greeted by two waterfalls cascading on either side of the path. This leads to two huge pools, plus a childrens' pool. I've enjoyed the spa, with its original 'shower temple' and personalised treatment rooms.
Service:
Well-trained and attentive staff, who go out of their way to make your stay as good as possible.

Who stays there:
A wide range of nationalities frequent the hotel but it is extremely popular with the British. It is also a favourite for golfers due to its proximity to many well-known courses.
Price advice:
Prices double in summer.
